Russell J. Pernot, age 92, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Badger Prairie in Verona. He was born on October 6, 1929, on the home farm in the Town of Oregon to his parents, Francis and Elizabeth (Heimann) Pernot.

On June 2, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lucille Bowers at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Belleville. Russell farmed and also worked for the University of Wisconsin-Madison in housing, and as a Per Mar security guard at Badgers events. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville and was a Third-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Russell is survived by his wife, Lucille; sons, Mark (Alison) and Steve (Debbie); and grandchildren, Benjamin, Toby, Isaac, and Naomi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Rose King and Marie Stebnitz.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison Street, Belleville, WI, with Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial is in St. Raphael's Frenchtown Cemetery, rural Belleville.
