Henry S. "Hank" Austin, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on May 26, 1937, in Madison, WI, the son of Ames and Esther (Swiggum) Austin.

Henry graduated from New Glarus High School in 1955. After high school he served in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve. On July 13, 1958, he was united in marriage to Janet Hoesly at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus. Hank farmed in the Town of Primrose for many years, and also drove school bus for the New Glarus School District. Hank was a charter member of the New Glarus Jaycees, and was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ. Hank was an avid outdoorsman taking numerous hunting and fishing trips with friends and family, and he also enjoyed golfing. He loved to tell or hear a good Ole and Lena joke, and to play a little prank when the opportunity arose.

Henry is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Malcolm, Guy (Brenda) Austin, and Bart (Tonya) Austin; grandchildren, Peter, Noelle, Mattie, Danny, Andrew, and Henry. He is further survived by his sisters, Gwendolyn (Donald) Johnson and Sandra (Dwight) Spring; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Austin; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Caroline Lynne; infant sister, Marlys Elaine; brother, Wayne; daughter-in-law, Laurie; and a niece, Anita.

A celebration of Hank's life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Forest of Fame Park in Mount Vernon, WI.
