ROGER ZWEIFEL

Roger Zweifel, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison of respiratory failure, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 18, 1942, in Dayton to his parents, Herman and Lois (Pernot) Zweifel.
Roger graduated from Belleville High School in 1960. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard until his discharge in 1970 after his active-duty service at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in 1964 and 1965. On April 30, 1966, Roger was united in marriage to Diane Bollig at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Verona. Roger worked in concrete construction for many contractors in the Madison area. He was a proud member of the Laborer's Union Local 464 for 58 years. Roger served as a Town of Exeter Supervisor for 20 years, and was a member of the Belleville Senior Citizens Board. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville. Roger loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and gardener. He loved to share his produce with family and friends. Roger enjoyed cheering on the Packers and Badgers.
Roger is survived by his wife, Diane; daughters, Theresa (Brent) Steinhorst and Tammy Zweifel; grandsons, Kyle and Kurt Steinhorst. He is further survived by his sisters, JoAnn Cunningham, Margie (Frank) Best, and Jean Chapman; brothers, Wayne (Carole) Zweifel and Herman (Nadine) Zweifel; sisters-in-law, Sharon Long and Marty Bollig; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaVonn (Glen) Birkrem, Allene (Stanley) Schmitz, Mavis (Reginald) Wilde; brothers-in-law, Douglas Bollig and Keith Long; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, LaVerne and Lucille Bollig.
A mass of Christian burial was held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison Street, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial with military honors is in the Belleville Cemetery. A visitation preceded the funeral mass from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville.

Roger loved to sit on the patio and wave to everyone. So, this is his last "Good Bye Wave" to everyone!!
