Leaora Miller

Age: 43

Occupation: Village President

Years lived in village: 43 years

Incumbent? Yes

Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: Yes. Village Trustee, 2018-2019; Village President, 2019-2021.

Why are you running for village board president? As a lifelong resident of Monticello, I am running for village board president because I would like to continue to lead Monticello into the future with integrity. As we move forward, I want to honor our values and traditions of our village.

What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: The top three issues I believe are most important to the village board are:

1. Bringing growth to the village so that our property taxes and water/sewer bills decrease.

2. Reopening the village hall safely and slowly from our current pandemic.

3. Hiring a part-time deputy clerk/treasurer.

If you could reverse one village action, what would that be? If I could reverse one village action, I would chose not to. I feel that every decision that has been made was decided by researching information, careful consideration, and thoughtful process.

Any additional comments? Do I have all the answers, I can't promise you that. I will listen to you. I will work with you. I will do everything I can to find those answers for you.
