Years lived in district: 39
Incumbent: No
Have you been on the school board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: None.
Why are you running for school board? Having grown up and attending school in Monticello and now raising our two sons here, I feel a sense of obligation to volunteer within my community that I take such pride in being a part of. I take an interest in the choices the board makes because it directly impacts the opportunities and future of my children.
What issues do you find most important to the school board? How would you handle these issues? Currently, as a board, I think the most important issue facing Monticello within the year, is the referendum that will be brought to the public next year. The referendum plays a crucial role in the operational functioning of our school. Working together and informing the public about how this is key to our district's success is definitely first and foremost. Personally, my goals on the board would be to create more communication between the board and the general public by trying to integrate different approaches of communication between our school and our community.
