Age: 55
Occupation: Program Assistant, Green County Emergency Management
Years lived in village: Lifetime resident
Incumbent? Yes
Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: I am currently serving on the Village Board. This is the second time I have served on the Village Board. I am finishing my 13th term overall on the Village Board.
Why are you running for village board? I enjoy being on the Village Board. I am a lifelong resident of the Village. I like to be involved in and give back to the community and I enjoy a challenge.
What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: The biggest issues facing the Village are taxes, growth and the providing quality infrastructure (streets, facilities – buildings, parks, etc.) and services (police, fire, EMS, streets, library, garbage pickup, etc.) to Village residents.
The Village has experienced very nice growth over the last couple years – both residential and commercial. It appears that this growth will continue over the next several years. There are currently several pending commercial projects that are being readied for the review process.
The Village Board has worked very hard to improve the Village infrastructure recently and more work needs to be done as funding becomes available.
My priorities for the Village are to see continued growth in the Village, providing quality infrastructure and services while being as fiscally responsible as possible.
If you could reverse one village action, what would that be? To be honest, I am not sure if there is any single action that I think should be reversed. The decisions reached by the Village Board are based on the best information available at that time. I may not have agreed with some actions taken by the Village Board, however, we live in a democracy and majority rules.
Any additional comments? As I said previously, I have enjoyed my time on the Village Board. I ask that no matter who you vote for, that you exercise you right as a citizen and VOTE on April 7th. I would like to thank the Post Messenger Recorder for this opportunity to share my thoughts.
