Wildcats Fall on Frigid Homecoming Night

October 17, 2019

The Belleville Wildcat Football team lost their third straight game on Friday night, falling to Pec-Argyle 12-6. This week’s game had a lot of the same notes as the past two defeats; two solid defenses which didn’t make mistakes and two offenses who struggled to sustain scoring drives.

The game was 6-6 headed into the half with the lone Wildcat score of the night coming on a Trevor Syse QB keeper from 1-yard out. In the second half, the Wildcat defense held the Vikings without a first down, but a 60-yard QB keeper around the left side proved to be the only big play Pec-Argyle would need as they were able to hold on for the 12-6 victory.

Belleville travels to New Glarus this Friday night to take on the NGM Knights. Both teams come in with a 4-4 record, but the Knights have already attained playoff eligibility with two Capital South Conference wins. If the Wildcats win Friday, they will be playoff eligible as well. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
