Roger D. Fritz, US Coast Guard CPO/E7, retired, age 72 of Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in the emergency room of Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at Wild Wood Park, Marshfield, WI, on Sunday, June 2, 2019, from 10:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Roger was born on July 22, 1946, in Monroe, WI, to Stanley and Beverly (Cockroft) Fritz. He was a 1964 graduate of Belleville High School. He married Janice M. Hobbs on September 7, 1974, in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Roger was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving his country for four years. He then served in the United States Coast Guard for 18 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and was a fan of John Wayne movies. Roger loved his family and was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; a daughter, Patricia Tessmann of Marshfield; and a son, Mark Fritz of Arpin; and two grandchildren, Haley Milligan and Sean Tessmann; and a great-grandson, Dimitri Milligan. He is further survived by a brother, Ronald (Shelby) Fritz of Belleville, WI; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Donna Bublitz.
