The Monticello boys basketball team hosted Brodhead on December 27th. The Ponies took an early lead in the first half with an 8-0 run. The Cardinals tied it up with less than 6 minutes left, but the Ponies made another 8-0 run and were ahead at halftime, 22-14.

In the second half the teams traded baskets and the Ponies kept their lead throughout the half. Monticello won the game, 51-39.

Peter Gustafson led Monticello with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jeffrey Ace scored 16 points and had 5 rebounds, while Reece Rufer scored 8 points. Simon Blohowiak pulled down 7 rebounds.
