Monticello School District held their Veterans Day Program on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

On Sunday, November 11, 2018 the Monticello Area Historical Society worked at teaching people about the end of World War I, one hundred years ago.

According to the 1918 local paper, chimes rang at the church, the fire bell rang, and steam whistles were blown. All three were used in the MAHS presentation with the steam whistle located in front of the museum, provided by Jim Faith.
