New Art Space at Belleville Public Library
March 9, 2023
The Belleville Public Library has a new art exhibit space. March’s exhibit is called Meandering Driftless.
The photography by Vicki L. France showcases the beauty of the Driftless Region. More of Vicki’s work can be found at http://www.vickifrancephotography.com.
“My favorite past-time has always been getting lost in the wooded hills and valleys of southwest Wisconsin. I have always wanted to share what I saw and felt in these places and photography made it all happen,” said Vicki.
The monthly exhibits will be selected by a volunteer curator and will include work by local artists, regional artists, and from collections.
For 2023 the volunteer curator is Randy Gunter, who, along with his wife Cindy, owns a business in Belleville. Randy has a Bachelor of Science in Art from Northern Illinois University and has been collecting artworks for over 30 years. He specializes in WPA artists and Photorealists.
If you are an artist who would like to display your work, contact Randy at RandyGunter@gmail.com. Please include information about yourself and photos of the art you’d like displayed in the email.
The Kringle Art Display Area was sponsored by Terry and Jean Kringle as part of the capital campaign for the new library. A professional hanging system allows easy display of framed artworks. Artists displaying work will need to provide framed pieces with a wired back hanger. Belleville Public Library also has display cases available for displaying artwork and other collections.
The Belleville Public Library is located at 20 S. Park Street in Belleville. Information about the library can be found at http://www.bellevillelibrary-wi.org. Questions can be directed to Library Director Bronna Lehmann at (608) 424-1812.
