Several Belleville residents want to, “make a strong statement for Belleville,” by placing several American flags on each light post along Main Street.

Bob and Meredith Smith have purchased several flags in honor of their military careers, Bob’s father and Meredith’s grandfather and other family members and friends who served in the military.

“We hope others will honor the veterans in their families,” said Smith. “In fact, we challenge every family in Belleville to buy at least one flag to represent their family.”
