Concept drawings for a possible multi-family development to be located on Valle Tell Lot 42. The New Glarus Plan Commission will hold an informal workshop on July 19, at 6:30 p.m., in the Village Hall Board Room.

On Thursday, July 19, the New Glarus Plan Commission will hold a 2nd Informal Workshop on Valle Tell Lot 42, Multiple Family Development.

Back in April of 2017, the Plan Commission held an informal workshop with Home of Our Own, Inc. (HOOO) to discuss the idea of the potential development. Members of the group were looking for feedback before purchasing the property and submitting a formal application for review. According to meeting notes, at that time, the Plan Commission was generally in support of the concept.

Since then, HOOO has been able to secure an option on the property and are looking for additional feedback.

The property is a 5.86 acre parcel, off of Elmer Road. The concept includes a multiple family development of approximately 80 units, to be built in two phases, with 40-unit buildings.

Their concept includes: 1) market rate rental housing; 2) an affordable housing component; and 3) a small percentage of the total project intended for children associated with HOOO and others who have development disabilities, who would pay a percentage of their total income.

The Plan Commission meeting will be held on July 19, at 6:30 p.m., in the New Glarus Village Hall Board Room.
