KAYLA R. SONNENBURG

Kayla Renee (Dolan) Sonnenburg, age 28 of Belleville, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at home with family at her side after an eight-year fight against cancer. She was born on July 7, 1989, in Dodgeville, WI, to her parents, Paul and Mary (Anderson) Dolan.
Kayla graduated from Dodgeville High School in 2007 and then continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she graduated with a degree in Animal Science in 2011. Agriculture always played an important role in Kayla's life, she showed cattle, was a 4-H and FFA member and served as the president for both organizations. At Platteville she was the president of the Dairy Club. Through the Dairy Club she met her future husband, Ryan Sonnenburg. Kayla and Ryan were united in marriage on September 13, 2014, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dodgeville. Kayla was able to channel her passion for agriculture through her dream job as the Sponsorship Manager of the World Dairy Expo. Her happy place was working alongside her husband Ryan with the cattle on the farm and traveling.
Kayla is survived by her husband, Ryan; parents, Paul and Mary Dolan; brother, Ryan (Krista) Dolan; sister, Andrea (Kory) Stalsberg; nephews, Kaleb and Gage Dolan, and Reid Stalsberg; niece, Bree Stalsberg; grandparents, Clifford and Evalena Anderson; and grandmother, Betty Dolan. She is further survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Amy Sonnenburg; brother-in-law, Adam Sonnenburg; and sister-in-law, Leah Sonnenburg.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Thomas Dolan.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 305 E. Walnut Street, Dodgeville, WI, with Msgr. Daniel Ganshert officiating. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the mass on Saturday, June 30, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dodgeville.
The family would like to thank Dr. Deming, physicians, and staff of the UW Carbone Cancer Center and Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. for the tireless effort and care of Kayla.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
