Sylvia B. Moen, age 97, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on October 27, 1920, the daughter of Sever C. and Bertha (Eide) Engen.

Sylvia grew up near Forward in the Town of Perry. On May 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Peter E. Moen at the Primrose Lutheran Church. Sylvia farmed with her husband until 1972 when they moved to town in New Glarus. Following their move off the farm, Sylvia worked as an aide at Pleasant View in Monroe for ten years. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Linda (LaVern) Wagner; grandchildren, Eric (Teresa) Wagner, Erin (Rob) Anderson, and Audra (Eric) Harmon; great-grandchildren, Grace and Kellen; former daughter-in-law, Conni (William) Bigler; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dean; husband, Peter; grandson, Trevor Moen; and three brothers, Gehard, Clarence and Ray.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 506 Twelfth Avenue, New Glarus, WI, with the Rev. Gene Talley officiating with burial in the Old York Cemetery. Relatives and friends called from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Avenue, New Glarus, WI.

Memorials are suggested to the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
