Edward L. Duesterhoeft, age 72, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at his home. He was born on November 16, 1944, to his parents, Elmer and Ruth (Thingstad) Duesterhoeft.

Ed graduated from Jefferson High School and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After college he served in the United States Air Force in Germany and Turkey. Ed worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Memorial Library. On February 14, 1987, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Richgels in Monroe. Ed was an avid Badger fan and enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and hockey. He also enjoyed "drive abouts" to see the countryside.

Ed is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Sarah Duesterhoeft, Dan Bedward and Ben Bedward; grandchildren, Evelyn, Adaline, and Ben II. He is further survived by his brother, Ernst (Lynette) Duesterhoeft; niece, Yvonne; and nephew, John.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John.

Per Edward's request, private family services will be held.
