A Note from the Chief
Happy Holidays from the New Glarus Police Department, once again we bring another year to a close. Looking back over the past year, I’m glad to report that overall it has been a successful year. Even after eighteen plus festivals, attended by thousands of guests with lots of beer served, once again the police department is glad to report that we didn’t have any arrests during any of the community events! That is just amazing and speaks volumes for the community as a group. Remember, all our community events are made possible only due to the many volunteer workers from our community. Without their help and support, many of these events wouldn’t be possible.
Over the last few weeks, our officers ended our community events for the year by helping serve lunch at the Elementary School Holiday Lunch program, followed with our annual Shop With A Cop program and then the New Glarus Youth Committee’s Lunch with Santa program. What a great way to end the year for everyone.
On behalf of the police department and its officers, I would like to thank everyone for supporting our community relations programs and our department throughout the year.
By the way, in case you are wondering, there are only 24 more days until we kick off the 2017 season of festivities with the annual Winterfest Veterans Rally, starting January 13th and going through the 15th. Come on out and support all of our local military veterans who served our country.
Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year!
Chief Burt Boldebuck
