Roland J. Sies, age 80, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on December 5, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital. Roland was born on September 11, 1936, to Norman and Clarice (Rickey) Sies.

He was united in marriage to Janice Anderson, the love of his life, on November 6, 1954. They were blessed with a family of nine children, 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Roland worked for Pet Milk in Belleville, WI, University of Wisconsin Heating Plant in Madison, WI, and Oakhill Correctional Institution in Oregon, WI, until his retirement. Roland loved the game of Cribbage, Euchre and his Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, of 62 years; his children, Douglas (Mary) of Blanchardville, WI, Duane (Kathy) of Freeport, IL, Danny of Evansville, WI, Doreen O'Brien of Monticello, WI, David (Lori) of Dayton, WI, Dawn (Rollie) Hollis of Tomahawk, WI, Deanna (Joe Sr.) Lyne of Shullsburg, WI, Donna (Jeff) Christen of Dayton, WI, DeLynn (Justin) Palmer of Dayton, WI; sister, Doris Miller of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnnie and Jeannette Anderson; brother-in law, Bob Miller; nephew, Greg Miller; and son-in-law, Stephen O'Brien.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, December 9, 2016, at the First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church Street, Belleville, WI, with Rev. Sara Rabe officiating with burial in the Belleville Cemetery.

Relatives and friends called from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
