Stanley E. Haack

Stanley E. Haack, age 70 of New Glarus, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2016. He was born on February 26, 1946, in Madison, the son of Edwin and June (Bilsie) Haack.

Stanley was united in marriage to Patricia Merklein on February 18, 1967, at St. James Catholic Church, Vermont Township. He worked for Bruce Company for 45 years, and most recently worked for Frostwood Farms. Stan was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton, and volunteered on the Middleton Baseball Commission for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army 826th ORD, and served in Vietnam from 1968 until 1969. Stan loved his family, they were his greatest joy. He was an attentive devoted father, and proud grandfather and a loyal husband of 49 years. Stan always loved his work, sports and his beef cattle.

Stan is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Bret (Kelli); daughter, Heidi (Jeff) Palmer; grandchildren, Drew, Cassie, Grace, Eve and Charlie; siblings, JoAnn, Fred (Alice), Karen (Dave), Donna, Roger (Marlene), LuAnn (Tom), Dale (Cathy); stepmother, Mary; in-laws, Mary Ann, Ann, Steve, Jane (John), Susie (Tracy); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father in-law, Margaret and Ray; sister, Yvonne; brothers, Ed and Cal; brothers-in-law, Jim and Mike.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2015 Parmenter Street, Middleton, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 1, 2016, with Father Brian Wilk presiding. Burial is at St. James Cemetery, Vermont Township. Visitation will be held at Gunderson West Funeral and Cremation Care, 7435 University Avenue, Middleton, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
