Peggy J. Eichelkraut

Peggy Jane (Fischl) Eichelkraut, age 73 of Belleville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016, with family by her side after a courageous three month battle with brain and lung cancer. She was born on June 12, 1943, to Norman and Florence (Streiff) Fischl.

She was married to Bradford (Butch) E. Eichelkraut on June 16, 1962, in Belleville, WI.

Peggy graduated from Belleville High School in 1961. She was baptized and a confirmed member of the First United Church of Christ in Belleville.

Peggy worked for her parents at the Park Hotel restaurant/bar in Belleville, the State of Wisconsin; she also worked as a CNA at the New Glarus Home and did in home childcare for many, many children in the Belleville area.

Peggy and Butch raised six sons, Bill, Bob, Jim, Jon, Brent (Michelle), and Brandon (Barb), all of Belleville. After Butch passed away, Peggy adopted two of her grandsons, Andy and Taylor. She is further survived by her sister, Nancy Donlin of Oregon; and her brother, John Fischl of Belleville. Grandchildren, Ashley, Josh, Aaron, Kendrick, Lydia, Lacey (Zach), Kaden, Theran, Christopher (Megan), Kristian, and Cassie. Great-grandchildren, Daylen, Kinze, Mia, KaiDynn, and Kohlton. Her sisters-in-law, Lorene Webber, Maribeth Stanley, and Shirley Howell; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Butch; brothers-in-law, Pat Donlin, Barry Eichelkraut, Frank Stanley; and daughter-in-law, Angela Eichelkraut.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday August 31, 2016, at the First United Church of Christ, 130 East Church Street, Belleville, WI, with Pastor Heidi Walker Hackman officiating. Burial followed in the Belleville Cemetery.

A visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Roberts and the staff at UW Health – Belleville and to nurses Kelsey, Brooke, and Linda, and care providers, Irene and Angie of the Monroe Clinic Hospice for their wonderful care of mom.
