Dairy Days Queens Brunch
I’m making my list and checking it twice. It is a busy time when planning to feed a crowd. I need a small army of helpers to assist me on June 25th to pull this brunch off. I am hoping it will be a great success. I cook all the time, but not for this number of people. Many hands will help with all the preparation, actual meal, and clean up. I am still hoping some high schoolers will contact me as they can earn points for their 2016-2017 volunteer programs. The kitchen is in the basement, the dining hall is upstairs. I am urging parents to have their kids give me a call so they can give us a hand. There will be some dishwashing, not much, but you can’t make scrambled eggs in a paper fry pan. The firemen are coming over to help flip pancakes; my grandchildren are coming with their walkie talkies to help coordinate. All this will make a huge difference on that Saturday.
Belleville is hosting Dairy Days for Green County. This only happens about every 11 years or so. We encourage everyone to do their part and help Belleville succeed with their parade, the cattle show, the crowning of the Green County Dairy Queen. There will be music and food stands.
There is also the Dairy Dash! Please grab your running shoes and come along to run or walk our route. It will be fun and Tracy Graves is heading up that project. She needs some help with her venue. She will need some people to man water stations, to be at the registration station, etc. Please call and join us and BE a big part of Dairy Days.
Don’t forget the parade!! I am hoping that each village will send a float or two to support the Dairy Industry that Green County so supports! Here is an invitation to each 4-H to get going and call to register your float. We would love to see a couple of bands perform on that day and walk the parade route. Please help make this a GREAT DAY!
