Monticello School Board Candidate Becky Clark
Age: 38
Occupation: Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Do you have children in Monticello School? Yes
Have you been on the school board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: No
Why are you running for School Board? I see serving on the school board as a way for me to give back to a community that has given so much to me and my family over the years. This is an opportunity for me to help in carrying on a tradition of quality education in Monticello.
If elected, do you have any specific goals for your term in office? If elected, my main priority is to help Monticello Schools to keep moving forward in the areas of technology, college prep courses, and in our distance learning lab. The students at Monticello have tremendous opportunities in these areas and I feel it is vital that we continue to grow in these disciplines.
What precisely do you believe is the biggest challenge for the School Board? I believe the biggest challenge Monticello School District is facing is the same challenge as all other districts in the state, that being budget and other financial limitations.
What other issues would you like to see addressed by the School Board? If elected, how would you handle these issues? I feel it is imperative that we support the quality staff members that we currently have in Monticello. I recognize that each of these people give their time and talent to our children on a daily basis. Although I realize that there are significant budgetary and financial limitations to overcome, I will strive to work towards an environment that is beneficial to all.
Do you have any additional comments? In closing, I look forward to serving my community and contributing to the betterment of our school district as a whole. I feel that working to support an environment of quality education is and has always been vital to the continued growth of our community.
