JUDITH C. DEHAAN

 

Judith Carolyn DeHaan, age 76 of New Glarus, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on September 3, 1939, to her parents, Arthur and Charlotte (Stewart) Eggert, in Harvard, IL.

Judith graduated from Hebron High School and then attended the Rockford School of Nursing. On November 29, 1958, she married her best friend, Henry "Skip" DeHaan Jr., at the Hebron Lutheran Church, and they have been in love with each other for over sixty years. Judith was a farm wife and mother, she also owned and operated the Rainbow Collection in New Glarus for about 15 years. She was a great cook, an avid gardener, fisherwoman, and birdwatcher; Judy also had talent as an artist and seamstress and would use bright colors and fabrics to create her art. She also enjoyed playing games where she showed her skill, luck, and humor. Judith loved her family and enjoyed sharing her stories and wisdom with them.

Judith is survived by her husband, Henry DeHaan of New Glarus; children, Daniel (Michele) DeHaan, Dawn Slotten, Janet (Tom) Wahl, Henry (Lynne) DeHaan III, and Lynda (Bryan) Riese; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Polly Fehler, Gene (Karen) Eggert, Madeline (Gary) Speckman, and Priscilla (Lowell) Fetty; nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Washington Reformation Church, N6026 Church Road, Monticello, WI, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the Washington Reformation Church, N6026 Church Road, Monticello, WI.
