Bernice M. Hustad, age 90 of New Glarus, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on June 15, 1925, near Blanchardville, WI, the daughter of William and Clara (NyGaard) Granberg.

Bernice attended Blanchardville Schools. On February 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Arthur B. Hustad by the minister from the Yellowstone Lutheran Church, where Bernice had been baptized and confirmed. Bernice and Arthur farmed and lived in the Town of Primrose for many years. Later she worked at Dorman Cheese and then GreenCo Industries from where she retired. She was a member of the Primrose Lutheran Church.

Bernice is survived by her son, Robert A. (Carol) Hustad of Swisher, IA; daughters, Ardis (Lee) Strack of Monticello, WI, and Beverly (Jeffrey) Webber of Mount Horeb, WI; thirteen grandchildren, Nick (Heide) Duerst, Neal Duerst, Nolan (Sandra) Duerst, Andrew (Renee Weisenberg) Strack, Stacy (Mitch) Heller, Angie (Gary) Sieger, Marie Webber, Mindy (Jeff) Lahey, Marsha (Robert) LaCount, Alan (Carla) Hustad, Sara (Bud) Barnett, Dana (Jeff) Martinak, Paula (Ray) Simmons; forty-one great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Perry (Alice) Granberg, Sylvester (Ada) Granberg, Leland (Mary) Granberg; five sisters, Alvina (James) McKeon, Ethel (Ross) Richardson, Doris (Robert) Maurer, Dora (Harold) Maurer; and an infant sister.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the Primrose Lutheran Church, 8770 Ridge Drive, Belleville, WI, with Pastor Nicole Espe officiating with burial in the Primrose East Cemetery.

Relatives and friends called from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Avenue, New Glarus, WI.
