Veterans at the New Glarus Home and Campus will be awarded a Quilt of Valor on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., for their military service at the New Glarus Home MPR/Chapel. The original Veterans Day event had to be cancelled because of visitor restrictions at the Home due to a flu outbreak.

Each veteran will individually be honored with a Quilt of Valor in conjunction with the annual Veterans Day Ceremony conducted by the Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Post #141.

The Sugar River Quilts of Valor Quilters, a local group of volunteers, have sewn all year long in creating twenty-two individual patriotic quilts for these veterans. Each quilt is made to say thank you to the veteran for their military service to our nation.

Family members and the community are encouraged to attend. Come and honor our Hometown Heroes touched by war and let them know how proud we are of them.
