The Monticello Post #256 is 95 years old and I am writing what Legion members have done in all those years (as well as the Auxiliary).

The lake was started by a Legion member

The Monticello sign at the lake

Row of trees entering the village

The Gardens, which were all canary grass six feet tall and marsh

The Veterans Monument and Memorial in the Garden

Built a Legion home, only to be taken away by a few narrow-minded people (also a community center)

Put flags in every classroom in Monticello school

We participate in Government Day

American Legion and Auxiliary scholarships

Put flags in five...
