Rodney H. Marty Sr., age 76 of New Glarus, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015. He was born on March 21, 1939, at Deaconess Hospital in Monroe, WI, to his parents, Herman and Emma (Schneider) Marty.

Rodney graduated from New Glarus High School and then went to work at the General Motors plant in Janesville, retiring after 52 years of service. On November 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to Joene Hillberry at Blue River, WI. Rodney also served in the Red Arrow Division in the United States Army. He was a member of the New Glarus Masonic Lodge #310 and the Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Post #141.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Joene Marty of New Glarus, WI; son, Rodney Jr. (Tammy) Marty of New Glarus, WI; daughters, Inga Marty of New Glarus, WI, and Rachel (Brandon) Marty of Monticello, WI; grandchildren, Grant, Abigail, Thomas and Madeline. He is further survived by a brother, John (Arlene) Marty; a sister, Barbara Marty; a sister-in-law, Kim (Steve) Anderson; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant children; Vince and Amy; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Albert and Norine Hillberry.

Per Rodney's request no services will be held.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
