Mary W. Gessler, age 95 of Monroe, formerly of Monticello, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Pleasant View Nursing Home.
Mary was born July 11, 1920, in Monroe, the daughter of Homer and Winifred Burrington.
She graduated from Monticello High School and married Raymond Gessler on October 8, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple moved to Monticello, where Mary helped her husband in his Monticello businesses. Raymond preceded her in death on February 25, 1977.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Gessler and Eugene Gessler; a daughter, Linda Field; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, James Burrington; and a sister, Joyce Miller.
Private family graveside services will be held in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
