'A New Leash on Life' Program Seeing Success

 


Last February, Sheriff David Mahoney announced the "New Leash on Life" program at the Dane County Jail's Ferris Center. The program allows dogs from the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin to stay at the Ferris Center, where are they are trained by specially selected inmates.

Yesterday, another lucky dog went home with his forever family. Rolo, who will soon be called Norman, was adopted by Brenda and Scott Wendel of Verona.

The Shepard mix is just under a year old, and was very excited to go to his new home! He's the second dog to be adopted from the program.
