Reminder of Real Estate Tax Second Installment Due

 


Sherri Hawkins, Green County Treasurer, reminds taxpayers that the second installment of real estate taxes is due by July 31. Please make checks payable to the Green County Treasurer. The Treasurer’s office is located in the Courthouse, 1016 16th Ave, on the 1st floor, Room #6. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. To mail payments, please remit to the Green County Treasurer, 1016 16th Ave, Monroe, WI 53566. If you wish to receive a receipt, please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope. An after-hours drop box is located on east door of Courthouse. To pay by credit card or by e-check, please visit the county website at http://www.co.green.wi.gov and under quick links, click on Pay Taxes Online. There is an additional fee for the credit card and e-check service.

Belleville Community Bank and Brooklyn Community Bank, Branches of Middleton Community Bank; Bank of New Glarus, Hwy 69, New Glarus; Sugar River Banks in Belleville, Brodhead, Juda and Monroe; Union Bank & Trust Company, New Glarus, Associated Bank, Monroe and the Greenwoods State Bank, Monticello, will be accepting postponed real estate tax payments during regular banking hours.

Please be reminded that if taxes are not paid by the due date, they become subject to August interest and penalty of 10.5%. The interest and penalty will continue to increase each month at the rate of 1.5% until the balance is paid in full.
