Two of New Glarus Middle School's FCCLA members, Alexa Thayer and Jill Marty, are working to raise money for Heartland Farm, An Animal Sanctuary, in Verona. You may have seen their donation jars at various businesses in New Glarus. So far, the girls have raised almost $100.00, which they will donate to Heartland Farm to help pay for food and veterinary care. Please visit these local businesses and put a few coins in the jar! Alexa is shown here with Opal, a resident of Heartland Farm.

On January 9th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Culver's of New Glarus on State Road 69 will be hosting a fundraising evening. Come join us for dinner, and Culver's will donate 10% of their profits to Heartland Farms.

Heartland Farms is a non-profit organization that is home to many farm animals who have been rescued from various, and sometimes odd, situations. Each resident of Heartland Farms has a unique backstory, and they all enjoy a secure place at which to thrive. In addition to helping these charming animals, Heartland Farms offers a variety of animal assisted programs to meet the needs of youth and adults with special needs, at risk youth, and youth or families experiencing trauma and loss. Please refer to their website, http://heartlandfarmsanctuary.org/, for information on programs, events and more ways to get involved.

Have dinner with us next Monday night! You'll be helping animals who help people, and you won't have to wash any dishes!
