Alva F. Kempfer

Alva Frederick Kempfer, born February 27, 1930, passed away in Gainesville, Florida, on Sunday, November 27, 2016.

He graduated from Middleton High School in 1947, and married the love of his life, Thelma Wilkins, in October 1950. He farmed in west Middleton until 1972 and then moved to New Glarus. He was Past Master of the New Glarus Masonic Lodge 310 and President of the Lions Club. In 1984, he relocated to Cape Coral, Florida, and then to Gainesville, Florida, in 1989.  

He is survived by his wife, Thelma; daughters, Joan Sawyer and Angie Gerber; a son, John (Terri) Kempfer; and a brother, Fred Kempfer; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Al was ordained in 1997 and ministered to people until the very end of his life.
