Wille to Present "My Irish Ancestor" at GCGS Meeting

The Green County Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The program “My Irish Ancestor” will be presented by Sandy Wille.

GCGS charter member Sandy Wille is Irish on her mothers’ side. Her ancestors came over from Ireland around 1850. The Power Point presentation will describe how she researched her ancestors and provide some hints for searching Irish resources.

Sandy has been married for 52 years to her husband, Dave; they have three children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She graduated from Milton High School and raised her family in Janesville. Sandy visited Ireland in 2019. She currently lives in Necedah, WI, and is an active member of our society and others.

The meeting will be held in the second-floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Avenue, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023. Visitors are always welcome and there is no cost to attend. You may call Ginny at (608) 426-1796 or Donna at (608) 921-1537 if you have any questions.

The GCGS Research Center (located in the lower level of the Monroe Public Library) is available to the public for research each Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., other times available by appointment by calling (608) 325-7436 on Tuesday, or Bill at (608) 325-2990.
