By all accounts, the sledding party hosted by New Glarus Cares on Saturday was a success. The local community foundation, who hosted the event, is working to preserve the 2.2-acre green space adjacent to Candy Cane Park. The event attracted many families and community members who came out to enjoy the wonderful winter weather and support the cause.

Attendees were treated to free hot chocolate, S'mores, and hot dogs, which were donated by Hoesly's Meats of New Glarus. Tofflers Bar and Grill also showed their support by donating 20% of its sales from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on the day of the event. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, $2,753 was donated at the sledding party on Saturday, which means the community has so far raised more than $30,000 to purchase the greenspace at Candy Cane Park.

Shelly Johnson, President of New Glarus Cares, was thrilled with the turnout. "It was wonderful to see so many families and community members come out to enjoy the sledding party and support the cause," she said. "We are grateful for the support of Hoesly's Meats, Tofflers Bar and Grill, and everyone who attended the event. Everyone's generosity will help us preserve this valuable place for future generations to come."

New Glarus Cares is committed to preserving the green space at Candy Cane Park for future generations to enjoy. "This park is a cherished community space and we want to ensure that it remains a beautiful green space for everyone to enjoy," Johnson said.

The foundation is grateful for the support of the community and encourages everyone to continue to help preserve this valuable green space.
