Beloved Belleville Teacher Passes Away Unexpectedly
January 5, 2023
On Monday, December 26, 2022, the Belleville community learned that beloved Belleville middle and high school Technology Education teacher, Ed Neumann, passed away while out hunting on Christmas.
Neumann had taught in the school district for the past eight years and was a two-time Project Lead the Way (PLTW) National Teacher of the Year, a PLTW Master Teacher and an educator that had changed the programming for students in STEM and Technology Education.
District Administrator Nate Perry noted in a letter sent to parents, staff and students that, "Ed will be remembered for his dedication to and belief in his students. He was more than a colleague - he was a friend. He had a big smile to go along with his sense of humor. Ed was also a devoted father and an avid sportsman."
The district hosted a gathering on December 27th and plans on having additional counselors on-site when school resumes after the holiday break.
