Monticello Christmas Stocking Fund Accepting Donations
November 24, 2022
As the holidays approach, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who has generously supported Monticello’s Christmas Stocking Fund over the years! We are incredibly grateful for the organizations and families who are in a position to continue their financial support, especially during these emotionally and financially challenging times! The community’s support of the Christmas Stocking Fund has been truly remarkable, and it is just one more reason why Monticello is such a wonderful place to live!
The mission of Monticello’s Christmas Stocking Fund is to help local families who need assistance in providing gifts for their children. The Christmas Stocking Fund also provides food baskets to families in need. The underlying principle is that no child, regardless of how needy, should face an empty stocking or tree on Christmas morning.
Last year, more than 40 children had a brighter holiday because of the Christmas Stocking Fund. Volunteers will shop for clothes, toys, and other gifts. As in the past, parents will pick-up the gifts and wrapping paper to take home and wrap, so their children never need to know the gifts came from the Christmas Stocking Fund. Rest assured, we remove the names from all shopping lists, so our shoppers never know which children from the community they are shopping for, either.
We are currently seeking donations to continue reaching families in need throughout our community. Donations can be made out to the Monticello Christmas Stocking Fund and dropped off at Greenwoods State Bank or Belleville Chiropractic and Wellness Center. They can also be mailed to our house: Deb or Brad Freitag, 609 E. Park Ave, Monticello, WI 53570, or directly to Greenwoods State Bank, Christmas Stocking Fund, 401 W. Coates Avenue, Monticello, WI 53570. Likewise, if you have a child in the district, feel free to send the donation to school in a sealed envelope with your son or daughter, which can be given to either Mrs. Freitag in the middle school or Mrs. DiCristina in the elementary school.
In the event you need the form to request gifts for children in your family, I can share a copy of that with you as well, or you can find it in the November School Newsletter.
On behalf of Monticello’s Christmas Stocking Fund, thank you for your support and generosity! You are making a difference in the lives of many children and families!
Thank you,
Deb and Brad Freitag, Brenda and Tony DiCristina
