The Monticello Lions Club and the FCCLA Club at Monticello School held a Pack-A-Sack drive last Saturday, October 22nd. On the Tuesday prior, the two clubs distributed a sack to every household in the village. The residents filled the sacks with non-perishable items and left them by their front door. Then on Saturday, October 22nd, the two clubs went around the village and picked up the sacks and took them to the Lions Shelter where they sorted everything and checked expiration dates. Then it was taken to the Green Cares Food Pantry. Both clubs were very busy.

Those participating for FCCLA were Rachel Rufer, Kennadee Johnson, Ryer Indergand, Macey Grant, Thomas Valentine, Hannah Broger and Sophia Swenson. The Lions participating were Jim Marty, Sam and Carol Powell, Mike Klassy, Mike Davis, Linn Lederman, Mary Winn, Joe and Melissa Elmer, Bob Harvey, Jeannie Gempeler, Troy Pettis, Brian Hoffmaster and Nancy Elmer.

A total of 2,000 lbs of food was collected, plus $740 in cash. Well done everyone!! Both clubs would like to thank the community for supporting such a drive. This was successful because of your support! We very much appreciate your support!
