New Glarus Farmers Market joins markets across the country in celebrating National Farmers Market Week August 7-13, 2022. Join us this Friday, August 12th, and every Friday through October 8, from 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m., at the Bank of New Glarus Parking Lot, 1101 Hwy 69, New Glarus! In its 5th year, the New Glarus Farmers Market has played an important role in the community, supplying locally grown and produced products as it also provides a place for locals to gather and catch up on the latest in New Glarus and beyond.

There are more than 8,500 farmers markets in the U.S today. The numbers continue to rise as farmers markets become fresh food mainstays for shoppers, strengthening economies and local food businesses. Now, more than ever, farmers markets serve as anchors in communities positively influencing health and building social networks. Wisconsin is home to over 300 farmers markets.

The New Glarus Farmers Market's goal has always been to create a space where everyone feels welcome to come shop from local vendors, fostering direct relationships between community members and farmers. With the support of local communities and our fine vendors, the NG Market continues to grow, with more prepared food options and seasonal vendors to meet peak demand for hanging baskets and sweet corn, for example. Weekly at the market vendors bring locally grown produce, herbs, beef, and lamb, homemade baked goods, honey, jams, canned goods, CBD products, plants, flower bouquets, homemade spring rolls, crab rangoon, and even Thai coffee drinks. Crafts, such as, soaps, lotions, wool, alpaca fiber products and more, are available every week.

Market Manager Danielle Zimmerman reports, "We are so appreciative of how the community has embraced the market. Every year there has been an increase of vendors selling at the market, and customer attendance. It is the community gathering place to be every Friday. It's wonderful to see out-of-towners enjoying the flavor of our community while our regulars stop by to gather fresh ingredients for a meal or grab dinner and dessert. We hope folks stop by the market to see what our farmers and vendors have ready and waiting!"
