There will be a fifth reunion of ALL Belleville High School football alumni the evening of August 19, 2022. This includes former players, coaches, cheerleaders, managers and fans from the 1940's through the Class of 2022.
This event will be held in conjunction with the Belleville Wildcats vs Cambridge Blue Jays football game held at the Sports Complex starting at 7:00 p.m.
A fifth commemorative booklet published by the Belleville Area Historical Society will be made available at the game giving the highlights of Belleville Wildcat Football from the seasons of 1984 through 1991. Limited numbers of previous editions of the history of Belleville Wildcat Football will also be available for donations. These include: Volume 1: 1970-1972 - Wildcat 19 Game Winning Streak (published 2017). Volume 2: 1973-1983 (published in 2018). Volume 3: 1928-1963 (published in 2019). Volume 4: 1964-1970 (published 2021). Volume 5: 1984-1991 (published 2022).
All proceeds from the purchase of the commemorative programs will go towards the construction of an additional trophy case at the high school which will contain donated Belleville Wildcats memorabilia from the last 70 years which will be permanently displayed, such as lettermen's sweaters, jerseys, band majorette uniforms, programs, etc. If you have Wildcats items you wish to donate for possible inclusion in this display, contact Bart Morrick of the Belleville Area Historical Society at (608) 443-9754.
At halftime of the game, we are asking all the players, coaches, cheerleaders and managers to make their way to the field to be recognized and honored and a group photograph will be taken. In addition to the teams from 1984 – 1991, 2022 marks several milestone anniversaries in Wildcats football history. These include: 1962: 60th Anniversary of the undefeated State Line League Championship season, 1971-1972: 50th Anniversary of back-to-back State Line League Championship seasons, 1982: 40th Anniversary of the State Line League Championship season, 2017: 5th Anniversary of the Capitol South Conference Championship season.
