Great Time Had by All at Cops n Bobbers
June 23, 2022
On June 4, 2022, the Belleville Police Department hosted Cops n Bobbers. The rain did not bother the kids and helpers. The fish were biting and everyone had a good time. The kids participated in a big fish/little fish contest. The big fish went to Baylee Hessling with a 10 3/8" bullhead and little fish went to Darren Williams with a 4 ½" pan fish. The kids also got the opportunity to learn CPR and 911 thanks to Belleville EMS.
This year's sponsors for the t-shirts were Artisan Deck and Design, Rosen Ford, and Disch Towing. JonnyO's Pizzeria supplied lunch for all the kids and helpers. Sugar River Senior Center donated yummy cookies for everyone to share. Charlie and Beth Campbell also made yummy cookies for everyone. Rosen Ford donated all the beverages for the event.
Other sponsors included Kwik Trip, Mike O'Connor's State Farm Insurance, Piggly Wiggly, Forever 56, Dayton Wax & Soap, and Joe Donlin. We received a huge donation from the Steve Versnik Family. We dedicated this event to the memory of Steve Versnik. He was a huge supporter. We were very honored that his family came out and supported this event.
We received other fishing gear donations from Richard and Linda Miller, Gary Bartels and Mary Gehin, Tim and Teresa Pelton, Robie and Cindy Blankenship, and Steve and Sue Ace. Belleville Area Care Coalition had a table with information and handouts for the kids. We would also like to thank Wisconsin State Patrol and Wisconsin Department of Community Corrections – Probation and Parole for allowing their staff to help with this event.
We could not have this event without our wonderful helpers, and they are: Tim Beiersdorf, Dan Wyttenbach, Officer Cody Pharo, Officer Vicki Beiersdorf, State Patrol Inspector Teresa Burchard, Carol Monson, Amelia Gonzales, Jim Hutchcroft, Marc and Becky Peterson, Mary Austin, Carl Richter, Theresa Lenghan, MJ Washburn, EMT Sarah Blanchard, and EMT Don Iggulden.
We had a great day of fishing and even had a visit from NBC15. We enjoy spending time with our community and building those relationships that will last. See everyone next year!
