Ronald B. White

Ronald B. White, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 15, 2021, after an 11-year battle with Myelofibrosis. He was born June 27, 1948, in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Boyd and Verle (Ross) White.

Ron grew up in the Darlington area and graduated from Mineral Point High School. He married Janet Felderman on December 30, 1966. They had two children, Jackie and Trevor. Jan predeceased him on April 4, 1993. On June 25, 1994, Ron married Janet Schlimgen.

Ron worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue for 37 years as an Auditor and made many lasting friendships. Respected and appreciated for his vast knowledge and patience with new recruits, his work friends and colleagues gave him a significant gift card for the Pond store. He was especially proud of his first retirement project, designing and constructing a beautiful waterfall and pond overlooking Ron and Janet's flower gardens.

Ron was a man of numerous talents and hobbies. He enjoyed macramé, hand painted ceramics and in more recent years woodworking, stained glass and leaf castings. The detailed wooden toys he made and shared with so many will be forever cherished. His fantastic stained glass creations, which could have sold for a pretty penny, instead were gifted to be enjoyed by many friends and family. He was also an avid reader of murder mystery books and couldn't resist a good crossword puzzle.

Ron, known affectionately by his grandchildren as "G-Pa", will be remembered as a kindhearted man, always willing to listen and lighten the moment with a joke. We will be forever grateful to have been changed for the better by his example.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Janet; his children, Jackie (Rene) Ahumada and Trevor White; three grandchildren, Cole Michel, Lunden (Joseph) Witte and Arden (Oscar Lopez) Michel; four step-grandchildren, Sergio, Angelica, Mario and Sierra Ahumada; and a step-great-grandson, Ivan Ahumada. Ron is also survived by his sister, A. Virginia (Paul Badertscher) Douglas; brother, Roger (Laura Mael) White; along with brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita White, Jackie (Dave) Oimoen, John (Lori) Schlimgen, Jean (Bruce) Oimoen, Joe (Connie Gordon) Schlimgen, Jay (Karen) Schlimgen, Joyce Reynolds, Jesse (Leesa) Schlimgen, Joyce (Roger) Weisman and Bill (Diana) Felderman; special cousin, Laura "Toots" (Bob) Gross; former sister-in-law, Lisa White; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Bailey, who was always by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Audrey; a brother, Jack White; his first wife, Jan; his father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Seraphine Schlimgen; and brother-in-law, Dick Douglas.

A funeral service was held, with burial at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.

Janet would like to thank Dr. Kaylan Nadiminti; his nurse, Nicki; and the rest of his staff at UW Carbone Cancer Center - Hematology; Ron's "gals and guys" at the Meriter Infusion Center who always gave Ron the VIP treatment; and Heartland Hospice.

Please donate blood at the American Red Cross. Ron's life depended on blood infusions the last years. There is a Ron White Fan Club that you can sign up for on the Red Cross app.
