The following Troop members attended Camp this year: Front Row (L-R): Tony DiCristina, Dylan Fritz and Ben Collins. Back Row (L-R): Logan Schultz, Joe DiCristina, Matthew Collins, Graham Byrd, Jon Byrd and Chris Collins.

The Boy Scouts of Troop 106 went to Summer Camp the week of June 27 to July 3rd; the camp they went to this year was Tomahawk Scout Reservation in northern Wisconsin.

The boys worked on many merit badges like Fly Fishing, Environmental Science, First Aide, Electronics, Archery, Welding and many more.

Scouts Logan Schultz and Graham Byrd who were in the Electronics and Electricity Merit badge classes. During the week, Logan and Graham competed in a bridge building competition which they had to make out of popsicle sticks, toothpicks and wood glue. At the end of the week each team had to tie a milk crate to the bridge and place full milk cartons in the crate until it collapsed. Logan and Graham took first place in the competition, with 18 cartons and their bridge was still standing. The second place team in the competition had 12 milk cartons in their crate when it collapsed. Congrats to Logan and Graham.

Congratulations to Dylan Fritz and Ben Collins for representing Troop 106 in the annual Root Beer 5K run. Both Scouts finished in the top 10. After the run, all participants receive a root beer float for all their effort. Job well done, Dylan and Ben.

During the week, after working on Merit badges, Joe DiCristina, along with Ben Collins, practiced and met pre-requirements for the mile swim. At the end of the week, both Joe and Ben entered the lake with a row boat alongside them with a spotter and rower, and both scouts completed their mile swim. Congratulations to both Joe and Ben for all the hard swimming. During Joe's swim, Troop 106 would also like to thank Mrs. Byrd who was visiting for a few days. Mrs. Byrd was on top of a patio cheering on Joe towards the finish and thought she would blow a whistle in support of Joe. It helped by blowing the whistle near the waterfront. All the other scouts thought there was a swimmer in distress and ran to the beach to only find a few scouts swimming safely and Joe finishing up his mile swim. Mrs. Byrd received a stern look from the lifeguard and a laugh from the other troop 106 members.
