New Glarus High School student Chase Doll has joined the Min-Aqua Bats, the oldest continually running amateur water ski show in the United States in Minocqua, Wisconsin.

Chase is entering his freshman year at New Glarus High School, and has been waterskiing since he was 6 years old. He made the team after trying out earlier this year by displaying his slalom skiing skills and barefoot skiing skills. Members of the team serve a season a "junior" member while learning some of the acts that are performed and helping with some of the operations. Chase has excelled at barefoot waterskiing since learning the difficult skill last year. He can both drop a ski to barefooting and do a deep water barefoot start, which earned him the American Barefoot Club Barefooter Badge.

Chase recently skied in his first live performance during a show this past Wednesday in the mass barefoot act and is extremely excited to keep developing his skills. He has been going over the ski jump during practice and hopes to perform that skill in the show in the coming shows.

The Min-Aqua Bats Water Ski Club originated in the 1950's, and they perform for free every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:00 p.m., at the Aqua Bowl in downtown Minocqua from mid-June to the Friday before Labor Day.
