RICHARD F. VINEY

July 8, 2021

Richard F. Viney

It is with great sadness; the family of Richard F. Viney shares their loss of an incredible family man. Richard passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021, surrounded in love by his immediate family. Richard, the youngest of Paul A. and Millie R. (Colney) Viney's 10 children, was born on September 12, 1937.

He was raised and worked on the family farm. Richard loved the farm life, and shared many great stories of his childhood, and holidays spent around their player piano. Richard graduated from Belleville High School in 1955, and attended trade school to become an electrician. Richard also served with the 115th Wisconsin Air National Guard. On October 7, 1959, he married Ruth Ann Buesser of New Glarus. The couple settled in Belleville and raised a family. During summer breaks, the family would take mini excursions to enjoy the beauty of northern Wisconsin, and northern Minnesota to visit his sisters. A proud member of the Local 159 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Richard spent his working career as an electrician for the State of Wisconsin. Occasionally, Dick would reminisce about his work buddies, their departmental potlucks, and the amazing view of Madison's Isthmus from the top of the State Capitol. He retired after 32 years of service for the State of Wisconsin. During retirement, Richard enjoyed family, fishing, camping, and traveling...in that order. Ruth and Richard spent many summer days at Indian Trails Campgrounds, and later at their cabin in Vilas County, Wisconsin, where he mastered the grill, and taught his grandchildren to love fishing as much as he had. Richard was a proud and doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, as well as to their friends. Grandpa Dick was generous with his time, and would show up to help out whenever needed. He chauffeured children to swimming lessons and school, helped with their projects-large and small, fed pets, fixed furniture, and listened patiently with a knowing smile at the perfect moment.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth, of 62 years; children, Julie (Ed Klitzke), and Jeff (Laura); grandchildren, William, Hailey (Kirbe) French and Julian; brother, Floyd (Charlotte); sisters, Elaine Worringer and Marybelle (Kenneth) Helgestad; sisters-in-law, Annabelle Acker and Myrna Viney; and many other relatives and friends.

Richard was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Orville, Bernard, Charlie, and Paul; and sisters, Charlene Heinzman and Hilda Jarona.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, Wisconsin. Burial is in St. Raphael's Frenchtown Cemetery, Belleville, WI. A visitation preceded the funeral service from 12 noon until time of services on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.

An online memorial with guestbook is available at http://www.bealfuneralhomes.com.

We love you, and we'll miss you...until we meet again.
