PolkaFest and Beer, Bacon & Cheese

The Roger Bright Memorial Polkafest, one of the community’s longest running festivals, will draw visitors to downtown New Glarus from Friday, June 11th through Saturday, June 12th. In addition to Polkafest, the 2021 Beer, Bacon & Cheese Festival will be held on Saturday, June 12th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Polkafest hours are as follows: Friday, June 11th, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m .; Saturday, June 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Polkafest offers live polka music under the big tent downtown, as well as at local bars and restaurants. Win free tickets to Beer, Bacon & Cheese Friday night at 8:30 p.m. under the big tent, and bring the family and learn to polka at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday! Beer, Bacon & Cheese boasts over 40 vendors offering samples of local beers, meats, and cheeses. Beer, Bacon & Cheese has already sold out, and only wristband holders may participate in the sampling.

Please make note of the following road closures prior to traveling around downtown New Glarus during Polkafest weekend:

1st Street (between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue) will be closed Thursday morning, June 10th, starting at 12:00 a.m. until Saturday, June 12th, at 10:00 p.m.

5th Avenue (between Railroad Street and 2nd Street) will be closed Saturday morning, June 12th, starting at 12:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

2nd Street (between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue) will be closed Saturday morning, June 12th, starting at 12:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

4th Avenue (between Railroad Street and 2nd Street) will be closed Saturday morning, June 12th, starting at 12:00 a.m. until 7 p.m.
