Mural Revealed During Construction

Workmen who are gutting the former Ruef's Meat Market were quite surprised to find a large painted mural on a joint wall, shared with the New Glarus Bakery. The wall on which the mural is painted was, at one time, the exterior south wall of the building. What they found was a large painted advertising sign promoting Washburn-Crosby's Gold Medal Flour. The surprised workers very carefully removed each layer so as to not damage the mural. Elisabeth Klopotic, the new owner of the building, is going to preserve the mural.
