The first window reveal was held at the home of Faun Phillipson on Second Street. Faun's window illustrated a few of her favorite things, including post cards and photos of New Glarus. Faun is pictured with her mom, Jane Phillipson.
Each day in December, from the 1st to the 24th, a window will be revealed. Until their "opening day", the window is concealed. Each window opening is held at 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted. This year, five private residences and some new participating businesses have joined the line-up. At all of the in-person Adventsfenster window reveals, there are masks that were made and donated by Roseann Ott, as well as sanitizer. Masks are required for attending the window reveals.
The following guidelines have been put into place - please read before attending an opening: Properly worn masks are required. If you're unable to wear a mask, organizers are asking that you refrain from attending the opening event and view the window on your own. Maintain social distancing from anyone not living in the same household as you. If you're not feeling well, or have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID, stay home and enjoy Adventsfenster openings on Facebook. If the guidelines aren't respected, the openings will shift to an all online event.
On December 10th, the Bank of New Glarus at 501 1st Street will reveal their window. The building at 101 6th Avenue in New Glarus will reveal its window on December 11th, which was designed by The Growing Tree, and is a virtual event. Restaino and Associates, at 109 5th Avenue, will reveal their window on December 12th. On December 13th, at 5:30 p.m., the New Glarus Home at 600 2nd Avenue will reveal their window. The New Glarus Public Library, 319 2nd Street, will reveal their window on December 14th. The CC Homeschooler Group has created the window at the Kuenzi residence, 412 5th Avenue, which will be revealed on December 15th. Small World and Kids World, at 107 2nd Street, will reveal their window on December 16th. A virtual event has been planned for the reveal of the window at the Siegenthaler residence, 1119 1st Street, on December 17th.
