Volunteer Opportunities Available at Green Cares Food Pantry
November 26, 2020
Green Cares Food Pantry, located just west of the village of Monticello, was established in 2009 and is the largest food pantry in Green County.
Green Cares is supported exclusively by volunteers, and they’re looking for more help. Green Cares is serving clients in a non-contact manner due to the pandemic. Help is needed in checking in clients on the computer, assembling groceries, produce and bread items, helping unload trucks, and picking up items from supermarkets with the pantry van. Open pantry hours are 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m .; other Tuesdays, 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m .; Thursdays, 9:00 a.m.-Noon; and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Most unloading is done on Mondays and driving is done on various days.
Volunteer opportunities are flexible and can be done on an ongoing basis, or just one time. Individuals and groups are always welcome.
If you are interested in any of these activities, please contact Cyndi Foley at phdcyn@tds.net or (608) 214-2207 or call the pantry at (608) 938-4238 and leave a message.
