It has been said that when you live in a small town, everyone knows your business. That may be true, but it's also true that when something tragic happens, people in small towns will step up to help however they can. On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, John Marty was killed in a farm accident, devastating his friends, family and what seemed like the entire village of Monticello. To honor John's love of motorcycles and cars, an impromptu motorcycle and car show was set up last weekend. By Saturday night, approximately 30 motorcycles were lined up in front of John's bar, the Rathskellar, and the iconic Blatz light was left on. On Sunday the street was lined with cars, trucks and motorcycles, and people were driving past to honor John, as well as support his friends and family. For more photos, see http://www.suepics.com.
