New Glarus Arbor Day 2020: Forging Ahead

New Glarus Public Works Director Joe Cockroft joins staff Jerry Parkinson and Chuck Loeffelholz to plant a new tree across from the post office with the social distancing guidelines in mind.

For the past twenty-four years, scores of New Glarus-area adults and hundreds of high school students have gathered together in the spring to plant trees throughout the village in celebration of Arbor Day. New Glarus, a Tree City USA community for 25 years, has been singled out in the past by state forestry officials as a great example of involving the community in the creation and care of its urban forest.
